-One of our first tasks was to learn the entry and exit requirements for the Central and South American countries we will be visiting. These requirements can change frequently and suddenly, particularly when entering overland. One of the most useful resources for finding this information was the US State Department's web site. This site contained plenty of useful travel information for Americans, though the information for overland travelers is limited. -To get the most update information for overlanders we contacted each country's embassy in the US. Here is a copy of the letter we sent to them. The embassies have been very helpful in our trip planning efforts.
